Amanda joined our Nelson office in September as a solicitor in the Commercial Property Team.
Amanda graduated from Canterbury University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology). She spent the next four years practising law at Wolfe Cadenhead Stone in Christchurch. She gained invaluable experience in this small general practice acting for a wide variety of clients in residential and commercial property matters, employment and family law.
Amanda then spent three years in London from 1998 until 2001. For her first 2 years she joined the In-House Legal Counsel team for the Church Commissioners for England providing legal advice to the National Church Institutions, undertaking property transactional work in the management of assets and undertaking legislative work of the General Synod. Following this Amanda was employed as a contract solicitor in the London office of Bird & Bird, an international commercial law firm. She advised an international telecommunications operator on all aspects of its property portfolios as tenant occupier on commercial and rural sites throughout the United Kingdom.
Amanda has recently had eleven months advising solely in employment law for a Christchurch firm, before moving to Nelson in January of this year. She spent 17 years growing up in Nelson and is delighted to have returned with her husband and their three children, to enjoy the company of extended family and the wonderful outdoors the region has to offer.
Amanda works Monday to Friday 9am-1pm.
